Overview
No verified shutdown announcement appears in the sources checked on 8 October. The dated record runs from national titles to a May 2026 partnership.
AS i8’s future is the subject of closure rumours, and fans are watching it closely. Liquipedia’s team history has no disband date, so a permanent closure remains unconfirmed.
What the record does show is a long-running Pakistani PUBG MOBILE organisation with domestic titles, global appearances, several branding eras and substantial roster change. None of that proves a closure.
What has been confirmed?
The AS i8 name follows earlier i8 and AGONxi8 branding. Liquipedia records the partnership with AS Group of Companies in March 2024 and the end of the Agon partnership later that year. A branding or roster change is a specific event; it should not automatically be described as the end of the whole organisation.
The national titles are part of Pakistan’s history.
i8 won PMPL Pakistan Fall in 2022, followed by Spring and Fall titles in 2023 under its changing co-branding. The record also includes global-event appearances. Those achievements account for the brand’s standing through later rebuilds.
AS i8’s 2024 PMGC campaign ended 32nd overall, with a reported $28,500 prize. A national qualification success and a lower global finish can both be true. Neither result tells us whether the organisation has closed two years later.
Player departures need their own dates.
The team timeline records HUZAIFA moving to 4Thrives in December 2025. His later regional and national-team appearances belong to that next chapter. The transfer connects two prominent Pakistani rosters, but dates well before the current closure rumour.
Secondary coverage and the team database differ on other player details. A current roster or free-agency list needs a dated team or player announcement before those names can be reported with confidence.
What the May announcement actually establishes.
Daily Pakistan’s May coverage describes Quick Topups and BigBaat acquiring Team ASI8 ahead of PMGO South Asia. Quick Topups’ own later blog uses partnership language. The team history ties the arrangement to the Season 1 regional campaign.
The public descriptions leave the exact ownership terms unclear. An event partnership and a full organisation sale carry different implications, and the underlying agreement is not available in these sources.
The next update needs a primary announcement.
A dated statement from AS i8, its leadership or its official accounts would let the status be reported directly. Any announcement should distinguish an organisation closure from a roster release, a partnership ending or a temporary competitive break.
The domestic titles, global appearances and dated transfers remain part of AS i8’s history, whatever its next competitive chapter brings.
